Re-Quote (from a friend's post)

"Christ does not call us to a prudent life, but to a God-centered, Christ-exalting, justice-advancing, counter-cultural, risk-taking life of love and courage [...] Life is hard. And the more you love the harder it gets [...] Christians are people who move toward need and truth and justice, not toward comfort and security. Life is hard. But God is good. And Christ is strong to help." - John Piper

Profound Gospel Simplicity

"Christ is all I have; Christ is all I need."

It is just that profoundly simple and yet this oneness with Him is often a struggle; realizing He is the only thing that I need and more than I could ever want.

The Rescue Center is a second generation ministry in Haiti that we've watched for the past 4 years.  We admire so much how they strategically love the Haitian people.  They are not flippant as they humbly love with great zeal.   We plan to keep peeking over the fence; learning from their ways.

All of that to say - Casey (the brother/son) is going to be blogging a fascinating and helpful series titled,

"Exploring the Ways in Which a Haitian’s Worldview Impacts Their Understanding of Sin".

It's fun to have fun

BUT - you have to know how!

Enjoying the sun with some serious

twister-hopscotch!

Fun times in Broken Bow.

Oh and a little balancing plank through the mud & grass to top it all off.

A Little CT

"The "romance" of a missionary is often made up of monotony and drudgery; there often is no glamour in it; it doesn't stir a man's spirit or blood. So don't come out to be a missionary as an experiment, it is useless and dangerous. Only come if you feel you would rather die than not come. Lord Wolsey was right: "A missionary ought to be a fanatic or he encumbers the ground." There are many trials and hardships. Disappointments are numerous and the time of learning the language is especially trying. Don't come if you want to make a great name or want to live long. Come if you feel there is no greater honour, after living for Christ, than to die for Him. That does the trick in the end. It's not the flash in the pan but the steady giving forth of light, it's shining on and on that we need out here. Our job is to make all hear the Word. God's job is to give penetration to His Word." - CT STUDD

You Are Holy

In beholding the Lord God, my God, in all of His glory - all of His attributes, I am made content. Fears and temptations are quieted - the mind and heart focus. There is so much power when we simply enjoy God. Our happiness is filled - joy restored - fixed peace passes all understanding. This is what we were created to do - be in awe of our Creator God. It is so simple and so divine and yet this is exactly why so many things threaten to keep us from this place of gazing on the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. In this place there are rivers of life flowing that carry throughout our everyday. His Spirit washes and fills us fresh to walk in His ways and not our own. It is here that I am made whole. From here I am able to love all day without hypocrisy - without partiality. If I don't see Him then I'll be too busy with me. "Missions exist because worship doesn't." This is worship: "One thing I have desired of the LORD, that I will seek; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in His temple." ps 27:4
